On May 6, Liu Yuan (刘源), president of our college, together with Men Baoquan (门保全), vice president of our college, Du Yun (杜允), minister of the Organization Department, Lei Qingquan (雷清泉), deputy secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Jiang Peng (蒋鹏), vice minister of the Publicity Department, visited the College of Food Engineering, the College of Information Engineering, and the College of Animal Husbandry Engineering to inspect and offer guidance on the thematic education studies.
Zhang Wei (张巍), secretary of the General Party Branch of the College of Information Engineering, Li Jinjie (李进杰), secretary of the General Party Branch of the College of Animal Husbandry Engineering, and Tang Gaoqi (汤高奇), secretary of the Teacher’s Party Branch and vice president of the College of Food Engineering, reported the status of thematic education studies from three aspects, i.e. the activity program of college thematic education studies that was promoted through the party conferences of the college; the massed and distributed learning on the original work of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; and researches on and investigations into the party construction, specialty-based characteristics, and work quality improvement, based on the features of each college, with a focus on solving the difficult problems in teaching.
Dean Liu Yuan provided from a macro perspective a summary of the main contents of seven books related to the theoretical study of thematic education. Liu Yuan stated that such works as the first and second volumes of the Study Outline of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (2023 version) (《习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想学习纲要（2023年版）》), Thematic Excerpts of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (《习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想专题摘编》), On the Party's Self Revolution (《论党的自我革命》), Excerpts of World Outlook and Methodology of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (《习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的世界观和方法论专题摘编》), and Excerpts of Xi Jinping’s Discussion on Investigation and Research (《习近平关于调查研究论述摘编》) are important study materials for us to gain profound understandings on the core, spiritual essence, rich connotation, and practical requirements of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Liu Yuan pointed out that we should view the thematic education of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as an opportunity to grasp the significance of thematic education and strengthen the Party's theoretical innovation, constantly improving the level of Marxism theory. Such thematic education would not only help bring together efforts of all to strive for the new journey, but also encourage us to dedicate ourselves to the high-quality development of our college. For thematic education, we should meet the general standard satisfactorily and at the same time bring out our distinctive features.
Liu Yuan also mentioned that it is a recognition of our college’s hard work in party construction and career development from the higher level that the Teacher’s Party Branch of the College of Food Engineering of Henan Vocational College of Agriculture (河南农业职业学院) was selected as one of the cultivation units of the "National Model Party Branches in Party Building Work" in 2022. Liu Yuan expressed the hope that the Teacher’s Party Branch of the College of Food Engineering would set examples for others, leading them to grow; meanwhile, other party organizations of the college could take this chance of thematic education on theoretical studies to emulate the model party organization and move forward together, in an effort to comprehensively improve the quality of the party building work of the party branches, become the model party branch, and achieve high-quality development in various undertakings of the college with the party construction as the lead.
