It is springtime in Luoyang, and athletes can’t wait to show their capabilities. On the morning of April 19, the 2023 Spring Sports Meeting of the Luoyang Branch opened on the playground. Liu Rongning, vice president of the College, president of the Luoyang Branch and secretary of the Party Committee, delivered an opening speech. Members of the Party Committee of the Branch and the organizing committee of the sports meeting were seated on the rostrum. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xia Shaohua, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Branch.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Sports Meeting, Liu Rongning expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and students who prepared for the sports meeting. He pointed out that it is of special significance to hold the 2023 Spring Sports Meeting. In the past year, under the strong leadership, care and support of the Party Committee of Luoyang Branch, all the teachers and students of Luoyang Branch carried forward the great spirit of combating the epidemic, made concerted efforts and forge ahead, resolutely blocked the epidemic from entering the campus, and overcame the impact of the epidemic, made commendable achievements in teaching, scientific research, student management, enrollment and employment, etc., and achieved remarkable development in all undertakings. 2023 is the first year to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the key year to implement the 14th Five-Year Plan. At this important time node, holding the 2023 Spring Sports Meeting is an active practice to fully implement the Party's educational policy, keep in mind the mission of fostering character and civic virtue, and promote the all-round development of students' moral grounding, intellectual ability, physical vigor, aesthetic sensibility and work skills. It is also a review of the sports level of our college. He hoped that all referees and staff would fulfill their duties, make fair judgments, provide good services, and ensure the smooth progress of various competitions; he hoped all athletes would obey referees, fight bravely with style and skills, challenge themselves, put friends first, win glory for classes and enrich the sports meeting; he hoped that audience would subordinate to the overall situation, follow directions, watch the sports meeting in a civilized way, and share the charm and joy of the sports meeting. Accompanied by the excited music of The march of the athletes, a total of 29 teams, including the national flag team, the colored flag team, teams of various departments and the referees' teams, marched into the playground in turn with full spirit and neat and confident steps. Dancing, recitation, martial arts... All formations showed the creativity and joy of teachers and students of the Branch with their unique creativity and methods, and the whole playground was filled with passion and vitality.

The 2023 Spring Sports Meeting was held for three days, with 22 student competitions, and 32 faculty competitions. More than 570 student-athletes participated in competitions. Over 100 faculty members will participate in fierce competitions in the following schedule.
