The golden autumn has arrived as the hot summer days come to an end. The garden is filled with the fragrance of grains. On August 15, the opening ceremony of the Horticultural Event of the “Bank of China Cup” 2022 National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education (Higher Vocational Group) was held in Henan Agricultural High-tech Park, the training base of our school.

Chen Yinting, Director of the Executive Committee of Horticultural Event of the 2022 National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education, Member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of Henan Provincial Department of Education, Professor Huang Shun, head of the competition expert group, Professor Tang Changzhen, the chief referee, Professor Jing Xiangxin, the umpire, Chen Jianjun, the secretary of the Party committee of Henan Vocation College of Agriculture, Li Xinjian, Deputy Director of Event Executive Committee and Deputy County Executive of Zhongmou County People's government, Liu Yuan, Deputy Director of Event Executive Committee and President of Henan Vocation College of Agriculture, and Zhang Xianqi, Secretary General of Event Executive Committee and Vice President of Henan Vocation College of Agriculture attended the opening ceremony and provided on-site guidance. The opening ceremony was presided over by Qin Jianchen, director of the Vocational Adult Education Division of the Provincial Department of Education. 50 teams from the province participated in the competition.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Yinting said that the National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education is an important action to implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the spirit of the National Vocational Education Conference, and it is the largest national and comprehensive skills competition of vocational education with the strongest influence and the highest skill level at present. In recent years, the Ministry of Education has paid attention to the leading role of skills competition of vocational colleges in promoting the reform of “teachers, textbooks and teaching methods” and improving the quality of talent training in vocational colleges, which is of great significance for improving the quality of vocational education, deepening the reform of vocational education and teaching, and promoting school-enterprise cooperation in running schools. The holding of this competition played a positive role in promoting the sustainable development of vocational education and accelerating the training of skilled personnel, and further arousing the enthusiasm of vocational teachers and students to practice skills and enhance their abilities and the students’ learning enthusiasm.

Chen Jianjun said that Henan Vocation College of Agriculture, the construction unit of the national “Double High Plan”, a national high-quality vocational college, a national backbone vocational college, and a national high-quality school for talent training for national rural revitalization. As the competition organizer, the College will strictly follow the requirements and spare no efforts of the whole school to provide security services for the competition. After the meeting, Liu Yuan went to the competition site to extend greetings to the field staff, student volunteers, and contestants and accepted media interviews. Liu Yuan said that this competition provided a stage for teachers and students of vocational colleges across the country to compete fairly. To obtain the qualification to organize the event is the affirmation of the achievements of Henan Vocation College of Agriculture in the past 70 years by the superior leaders and all sectors of society. The College will make every effort to carefully organize, conscientiously implement, closely cooperate and provide good services to ensure the safety and order of the competition and make the competition a high-level competition. Liu Yuan wished the participating teams could learn from each other, exchange views, demonstrate skills and style, and achieve the best results.
